Silly Gingerbread Cakes – Cute Christmas Baking

  • Mixing bowls, hand mixer, muffin tin or shaped cake pan, spatula, piping bags, decorating supplies.

Ingredients
  

  • For the Gingerbread Cakes:
  • - 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • - 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • - 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • - 1/2 tsp salt
  • - 2 tsp ground ginger
  • - 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • - 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • - 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • - 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • - 1/2 cup molasses
  • - 2 large eggs
  • - 1/2 cup milk
  • For Decorating:
  • - 1 cup powdered sugar
  • - 2–3 Tbsp milk
  • - Assorted candies sprinkles, candy eyes, icing pens

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease muffin tin or cake pan.
  • Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices into a bowl.
  • Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add molasses and eggs; beat well.
  • Alternately add dry mix and milk, mixing until smooth.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 18–22 min for cupcakes or 25–30 for cake.
  • Cool completely. Mix powdered sugar and milk for icing; decorate with candies and sprinkles.

Notes

Get creative with icing colors and silly designs! Store in airtight container for up to 3 days.
